General Questions

1. What are your access hours?

Access hours vary by location but typically run from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
Some tenants may qualify for extended or 24-hour access, which is a privilege and can be revoked for policy violations or safety concerns.

2. What are your office hours?

Office hours differ by property. Please check the location page or contact management for current hours of operation.

3. Do I need insurance for my stored items?

Yes. Under the TSSA Rental Agreement, tenants are responsible for insuring their own property.
You may use homeowners/renters insurance or purchase storage insurance through an approved vendor.


Units & Security

4. What type of lock do I need?

We recommend a disc lock or cylinder lock, as they offer the highest security and are compliant with most Texas storage standards. We sell locks at all office locations.

5. Are your facilities monitored?

Yes. Our locations use a combination of digital surveillance, gate access control, and routine security checks.

6. Are climate-controlled units available?

Yes, many of our units are climate-controlled to protect belongings sensitive to heat and humidity.


Payments & Billing

7. What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept major credit cards, automatic payments, and online payments through our customer portal.

8. When is rent due?

Rent is due monthly, on the day your lease began. Late fees apply according to the TSSA rental agreement and Texas Property Code.

9. Do you offer autopay?

Yes, and we strongly encourage tenants to enroll to avoid late fees or lock-outs.


Rules & Policies

10. Can I live or sleep in my storage unit?

No. Living, sleeping, working, or occupying a storage unit is strictly prohibited under Texas law, fire code, and the TSSA rental agreement.

11. Can I stay inside my unit with the door closed?

No. For safety reasons, tenants may not remain inside a unit, with the door open or closed.
Climate-controlled units are not designed for human occupancy.

12. Can I run electricity inside my unit?

Not without written approval.
Space heaters, fans, freezers, power tools, charging stations, and appliances are not allowed unless specifically authorized.

13. What items are prohibited?

You may not store:

  • Gasoline or fuels
  • Chemicals or toxic materials
  • Fireworks, ammunition, or explosives
  • Perishables or food that may attract pests
  • Illegal or hazardous items of any kind

14. Can I use my unit as a workshop, office, or studio?

No. Storage units cannot be used for business operations, recording, working, meetings, or extended onsite activity.


Gate Access & Safety

15. Can I share my gate code with others?

No. Gate codes are assigned to individual tenants for tracking and security.
Sharing codes or letting others tailgate is a policy violation.

16. What happens if I lose my key or need a lock cut?

Management can assist with a lock-cutting service. Fees may apply.

17. What should I do if I see suspicious activity?

Contact management immediately. If it’s an emergency, call 911.


Moving In & Out

18. Do you provide carts or dollies?

At many locations, yes. Equipment rules vary by facility.

19. How much notice do I need to give when moving out?

Most TSSA leases require written notice—usually 10 days before the next billing cycle.
Your unit must be emptied, broom-clean, and the lock removed.

20. Will I receive a refund if I move out early?

Texas storage leases are typically month-to-month, and rent is not prorated after the first month.
